The ShopVue-SAP Connector(s) allows you to benefit from a world-class MES that supports your manufacturing operations while providing a seamless integration into your SAP environment. ShopVue delivers real-time labor and order tracking, machine monitoring, and full-featured time and attendance in one reliable system that interfaces directly with SAP.
ShopVue has been a proven SAP solution since for more than 20 years and recently executed a new SAP Partner Edge agreement. We have a ready-to-go SAP interface and numerous successful system implementations at SAP customers worldwide.
Using the latest technology, including touch screen terminals and tablets, ShopVue extends SAP by collecting shop floor data such as: order status, labor time, employee productivity, and machine efficiency. Together, ShopVue and SAP can help you with waste elimination, capacity planning, and standards development.
The ShopVue-SAP Connector(s) automatically downloads from SAP the necessary information for accurate shop floor data collection, order tracking, and efficiency reporting. After Operators report transactions on the shop floor, The ShopVue-SAP Connector uploads information like materials consumed and direct labor charges to SAP.
Ultimately, the ShopVue-SAP Connector(s) enables SAP to display your updated order status, additional actual labor, materials consumed, and transfers to finished goods inventory.
The ShopVue-SAP Connectors
ShopVue offers separate Connector interface add-ons based on your SAP usage. These include:
- Production Orders (PP-PDC)
- Process Orders (PI-PCS)
- Projects, Customer Service and Internal Orders (CATS)
- Repetitive Manufacturing Orders (PP-REM)
ShopVue’s Advantages for SAP Users
Validation & Error Handling
ShopVue uses order information from SAP to interactively validate each operator entry. For example, if ShopVue knows a standard in SAP is 100 pieces per hour, ShopVue can warn an operator if she attempts to report a quantity that is less than X percentage (user-defined) of this standard.
The ShopVue-SAP Connector extends the standard SAP interface and validates these entries again when it updates SAP through its core interface. In the unlikely event that an error slips through, SAP returns the error to ShopVue for correction and automatic reposting.
With the ShopVue-SAP Connector, you can release orders from different SAP plants into the appropriate instance of ShopVue. ShopVue operators and supervisors don’t have to worry about charging work to the right plant — the ShopVue-SAP Connector automatically applies labor and material transactions to the correct plant when exported back to SAP.
The Changes Only feature ensures ShopVue will download only new orders and changes to existing orders, limiting network traffic and speeding download time. Seconds after planners input that new hot job into SAP, operators can begin working on the job in ShopVue.
ShopVue-SAP interactions happen automatically at frequent intervals. If either system is temporarily unavailable, the ShopVue-SAP Connector interface queues transactions until a connection is reestablished.
Corrections in ShopVue
Supervisors can make corrections to operator transactions in a single place. The ShopVue-SAP Connector uses either replacement (PP-PDC) or delta logic (PI-PCS and PP-REM) along with its export history to transmit the corrections to SAP and keep the two systems in sync.
