How ShopVue’s Direct Machine Interface (DMI) Works
How ShopVue DMI Works
ShopVue’s DMI auxiliary module is designed to collect data directly from factory machines. The data ShopVue gathers is not intended to replace SCADA systems or manage process control, but to supplement the kinds of information ShopVue typically collects from the machine operators.
OLE Process Control Technology (OPC)
Our MES software communicates with the machines using OPC technology, a communication standard that allows for a common communication technique. OPC is widely used and is likely already implemented in your factory for non-ShopVue projects.
By utilizing OPC technology and both integrated and external machine interface methods, ShopVue’s DMI auxiliary module can connect to virtually any factory machine.
